RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. (KTHV) - Russellville police say they have spoken to the two women wanted for an alleged cancer fundraising scam.
Police say the two women were identified Sept. 28 with help from the community. The two women, from another state, voluntarily?went?to police?Sept. 30 and gave statements to officers.
They say they were raising money for a similar cause out of another state.
The women were?originally said to be?raising money for Heroes for Carter, a support group for 5-year-old Carter Nuckols, a Russellville boy with an inoperable brain tumor.
His Facebook page recently shared the sad news that Carter succumbed to the tumor Monday night:
"God's children don't die, they just change addresses and return home. Just before 10 pm, our loved lil boy returned to God. Thank you everyone for the prayers and support. NEGU!!! Dad"
This case is still under investigation.
